Me and Anna decided to actually cook something properly from scratch and went for homemade lasagne. It turned out so good.
We started with the ragù. Garlic, shallots, celery, carrots, beef, tomatoes, fresh rosemary and thyme. And obviously a bit of Chianti. Some went into the sauce, most into our glasses. Had to give it a taste first… with a little toast to kick things off. We let it simmer for ages and the whole flat smelled amazing.
Then we made béchamel and I added truffle salt which made it feel a bit fancy. It gave it such a nice flavour without being too much.
Then we layered everything. Pasta, ragù, béchamel, cheese. Again and again. By the time it came out of the oven golden and bubbling we were actually starving. It looked unreal.
We had it with more Chianti and were so proud of ourselves, as it tasted incredible.
